New Start...

I bought this chart and threads, and just had to start it straight away so I fished out some fabrics to choose from and finally settled on this dark piece from PolStitches although I have no name for it as it was from a Grab Bag. The chart is Lizzie*Kate 'Good things come to those who stitch'. Only one night's stitching :)

Cross Stitch Friends in the UK SAL

Yesterday marked the start of the nationwide SAL on facebook from 3rd Dec 5pm till 6th Dec 8pm. Cross Stitch Friends in the UK SAL.

To start with I am working on a lion bookmark I bought from the Stitch & Craft Show in March of this year at Olympia. I also bought the matching tiger bookmark too :)

Here are my progress pics for day one before and after:

New start...

Made a start on a cute bookmark which is a Lion. I have the matching Tiger one and thought it would be a good idea to stitch the one which is less interesting (colours wise) first before I start the other. So here is my progress after only a day of stitching on Saturday.

Shouldn't take long as this is about a third of it done already lol. I know my posts are a little backwards and not in order but I seem to be posting what I remember to post so it may be a little jumbled lol.

The Usual Suspects

Started this stitching on Wednesday whilst on the trains and buses etc so here is the first pic after day one:

After day two I only had two sets of eyes left to finish so I got those done this morning:

So that's another small finish for 2010!

I must say the amount of thread in each kit is not enough for a beginner to complete it. I have been stitching many many years now and can optimize my thread consumption for a project yet I only had a little of each colour left over except for white and dark blue. My optimising meant using one strand and folding it in half to create 2 using the loop start method.

Anyway kit is available from Urban Cross Stitch.

Stitching at last...

The last time I did any stitching at all was about 4 weeks ago. Here is what I did yesterday:

I also started a new piece on some lovely hand-dyed Polstitches 28ct Jobelan fabric called Midnight Mist, although the fabric is orange so am wondering if it labelled wrong?? I am using black thread 310 DMC and stitching over 1. Anyway here is what I started:

New Project...

Having sorted through a tonne of cross stitch magazines and organised a million charts into folders for 3 days straight I certainly needed a break. So I started a new project that I had bought all the materials for ages ago and here is the first day of stitching:

Makes a change...

All I seem to have been posting recently is UFO progresses so whilst I had my copy of CrossStitcher with me on my way to Uni Tuesday I decided to start my travelling stitching and started the Devotion Doll freebie kit that came with the magazine.

I've started a new project of a pair of baby feet for a friend of mine who had a little girl before christmas.

Here is what it should look like when it's finished:

And here is my progress after 2 days of stitching in the gym:
