Liberate Your Art Postcard Swap

The Postcard swap is now at an end and to finish it off properly, there is a final BlogHop to visit all those involved.

It has been a long journey, especially for the postcards and the lovely Kat who has swapped everyone's lovely artwork and sent them whirring around the world.

The postcards have now all found new homes and will be treasured by the recipients.

Looking forward to visiting all the lovely blogs involved and seeing everyone's liberated art.

Please stop by The Kat Eye View of the World to see all the lovely bloggers involved.

Postcard #4

What a beautiful colourful card! The Liberate your art postcard swap is surely well under way and there are so many beautiful cards appearing in the facebook page. This lovely card is from Dee Vlasak on Instagram.

The back reads:

Greetings from Santa Cruz, CA.
Hope you have a wonderful, creative day.
"when you do things from your soul,
you feel a river moving in you, a joy."

Postcard #3

An amazing artistic postcard from Char'i Lawson in Colardo Springs, this time stamped from a special place, National Postal Museum Station in Smithsonian Institution, Washington, D.C.

Quoted on the back of the card is:
I look at everything with one eye closed, to mix the truth of my mind with the lies of this world. I am not perfect...just another face.

Such a true statement.

Due to it being a facial piece I just had to have a go at picture placement with it too, hope you like it.

Where oh where are these postcards from?

It's started!!!!! The liberate your art postcard swap is well under way and postcards have been arriving thick and fast across the globe. The pictures on the facebook group have been delightful so here is my first postcard, surrounded by what was on my dining table at the time.
Makes for an exotic picture don't you think.

Received from the lovely Sonya Versluys. An amazing lady who has been fighting Lyme Disease and yet still finds time to share her creativity to the world. A real inspiration, and thankyou so much for joining the swap, It's a pleasure to produce art alongside you in this harsh world.

Here is the back of the postcard:

Liberate your art postcard swap

http://kateyestudio.com/liberate-your-art-postcard-swap
Deadline day is today!

I just love this swap! I rarely create what I call art as I'm usually making jewellery but you can even send in pictures of that too. Here are the postcards I sent in for this years swap. Last year my postcards didn't quite make it in time, despite the post office assuring me they would be there in time :(

The Love piece is a copper charm I stamped with letters, the blue is a microscopic picture of one of my blue Agate gemstones I've been meaning to wire wrap (We found a new toy at work), and the third is a picture taken of my hot chocolate whilst at Craft Candy one weekend, the bubbles had little rainbows in them.

So happy to be a part of it and looking forward to receiving some lovely postcards. Unfortunately I had to print them on the laser printer at work so I hope they look OK. If anyone is interested in swapping more cards outside of the swap please let me know as I have quite a few extra :)

Postcards

Having joined the Liberate Your Art postcard swap again this year, I have been busy this morning using the photos I took of my latest projects to create some unusual cards. Here are some of what I cam up with, showing the before photo and the after postcard...

IMAG2247.jpg dotty lady postcard
IMAG2198 jubilee patchwork cushion postcard
IMAG2278 polymer 1
IMAG2127 fancy a cuppa postcard
IMAG2275 polymer 8

Now we only have to send 5 postcards, but so far I've made 9 as I just can't decided which ones I like better. I will post more soon, most are of the polymer clay jewellery pieces I made with my father last weekend, just close up images as you can see above... I quite like these and every one is different but I do want to show my diversity with different types of work too.

What do you think? Any ideas?

Liberate Your Art

Kat at KatEyeStudio has launched this year's Liberate Your Art Postcard Swap.

Last year was such a huge success and everyone received some gorgeous postcards. I have joined again as it was so much fun creating a set of Postcards that flew around the world, just a shame I never found out where they ended up. Here are the ones I received last year, as well as the card from Kat herself:

I hope this year will be as successful if not more than last year.

Thanks Kat!

Blog Hop progress

So far 65 blogs have been added to the Blog hop and I've visited all of them to see their posts and postcards received, I haven't had time to post on any of them though...

I am however very blue as I have yet to see any of the Postcards that I mailed out and haven't had any response from their recipients. My blog adress was on all five along with my name...

Anyone out there receive my postcards???

Postcards...

I joined 2 postcard swaps before my holiday. The first being a swap on ACN stitching forum. Here are the postcards I received from the swap including one from Norway and one from Canada. 9 members in total sent a card from their local area to all the members. I myself sent a second card to each participant whilst on my holiday in Mallorca too.

ACN postcard exchange

The second swap was 'Liberate your Art' of which 5 art postcards were sent to Kat in America and in return you received 5 postcards from other people in the swap. Here are the 5 cards I received...

Liberate your Art

I have just been back to the Liberate your Art page and finally got around to looking through all the blogs of people who are joining in. There have been so many additions since I joined and there are some amazing people in the crafting world! I am soo pleased to be a part of the exchange.

There are many, many photographers on the list as well as jewellery makers, scrapbookers, artists, digital artists, quilters, embroiderers, glass art, and something called Gourd art, there are so many more that here are a few of the links for you to peruse, the rest can be found here.

Also I found out about a cool sketchbook project via crafty-creativity where you are sent a sketchbook and choose a theme, then complete the sketchbook in your own way and it gets exhibited in a tour. For more information click here. It sounds like a great way of showing off work to people all over the world that might not necessarily get to see your blogs etc and it will be permanently held at the Brooklyn Art Library too! I've just ordered mine!
