Another Craft Market

This weekend I attended another craft market, this time in Sidcup. There were a lot of lovely pregnant ladies and some with very small babies, as well as cakes, and photos. Only lasting an hour and a half, I must admit the time flew by and I may have liked it to be a little longer but you take what you can get these days. I had a nice time talking with people there so I didn't mind.

Here is my stall:

Event was hosted by Bump & Beyond on facebook.

As promised...

Here are pictures of my stall on Saturday and of Joey enjoying the day out, instead of the usual being cooped up indoors.

You will see I've made a few changes and bought some props to hold up my father's cards and my keyrings. Pretty simple really, one is a dish holder and the other is a mug rack from The Range, think they worked out to be quite effective in their purpose. I also added a couple of new Mug Rugs to my pile including these gnome ones and the pink scrap ones.

There was a lady next to us doing face-painting for the children too so ofcourse Joey had to get his done, here is my little BatMan...

It was a very windy day, which is why my jewellery stands were not standing. I ended the day at 3pm as I had, had enough of chasing my stock around the Park. There was a little interest in my stall but only sold 4 of my father's cards which is a shame.

Didn't cost me anything to go there as I only live around the corner and thought it would be a lot busier with the Mayor being there and everything but it was a day out in the sunshine so I am happy...

Picnic in the Park

I will be holding a stall at the Picnic in The Park this Saturday 23rd June. I will also be trying to raise some money for a friend of mine too for her daughter so if you're free then stop by for a day of fun and sun.

Only sold a couple of flower brooches, 2 sets of notecards and 2 mug rugs, but saw loads of really nice things and even nabbed myself a beautiful red shambala with red crystals. It's all experience at the end of the day so I can't really complain...

HobbyCraft Event

Here is my stall from the event at Hobbycraft on Thursday.

Managed to sell a couple of necklaces, make a wire wrapped necklace and quilt two Mug Rugs as well as a potential Tattoo request.

There was quite a lot of interest in the stall but next to me was a lady making soaps, some of which had rubber duckies on top and a Spitfire soap for men which uses Spitfire beer, the kids loved the soap making.

I guess the hardest thing about doing a craft event within a craft store is simply that crafters will see your pieces and go buy materials to try it themselves rather than buy ready made items. Not much you can do about it except carry on.

Oh well, it was a learning experience and I now know what I'm able to carry and how to set up a stall which is helpful as I have another event coming up on June 16th at Brentwood Road Gallery in Romford.

Here are some more Mug Rugs I made for the event:

Cupcakes, Cross Stitch and Cocktails!

On Staurday I went to the latest Cupcakes, Cross Stitch and Cocktails event in Shoreditch, London and had a good long chat with Phil, author of the new 'Twisted Stitches' cross stitch book and owner of 'Urban Cross Stitch' company.

It's been 3 years since I last attended an event although they had only one other after that. It was really good to chat with Phil and catch up on events etc. We talked about his newest kits, his new book, which is actually quite funny, although not for the faint hearted, and also how he had found it difficult to find stitchers to make up the projects from the book for publishing.

I pre-ordered the book on Amazon and despite them saying it would be published in March, Phil told me it actually didn't get released until June. Anyway I did receive my copy and already have my eyes set on a gorgeous butterfly pattern which looks like a skull.

I had some really good chats with some of the attendees and even helped get someone started on a large project called 'Balloon Girl'. As well as all of this I even managed to stitch a couple of pieces too.

Firstly a pair of pants which is part of an urban cross stitch kit, and secondly some more progress on my tribal butterly:

There are some more upcoming events in London. The closest being July 1st - 3rd to promote a new range of beer. Check out Urban Cross Stitch on facebook too for all upcoming events!
