Cupcakes...

As Elisa has received my exchange piece for the food & drink exchange on Exchange Heaven, I can now show you what it is that I sent.
Photobucket

These gorgeous cupcakes came from the Cross Stitch Gold and were absolutely lovely to stitch. I finished them off with beads that I got from the Stitch & Craft Show. Here's a close up:

I also sent along these goodies I found.
Some extra goodies - a pen, badge, stitckers and a postcard

And wrapped it all up in matching paper:
All wrapped up ready to go

I'm so glad you like it Elisa! I had so much fun stitching them that in part I didn't want to let them go lol. No matter I will stitch more! I also made up a finishing class for this piece too so check out the finishing blog!

Thanks for looking.

Two cushions finished...

I made up one cushion on Monday (the yellow one) and made up the second one today (the blue one). They are to match Essie and Frido's quilt that i put together back in October. I hope they match OK as I have used the same fabrics and also that Essie and Frido like them too.

The squares were stitched by Michelle and Mavis from A Crafty Natter. Michelle's is the ducky and Mavis' is the ABC block.

And here is a close up of the second one, square stitched by Mavis.

Hope you like them Essie and Frido. I will sew up the gaps in the bottoms and send them out to you next week!

And for all those that have asked for the tutorial I have now put up a link to my tutorials blog which has a step by step. Please don't be put off by a couple of the photos are from the blue cushion although the rest are of the yellow cushion.

One quacking cushion for Essie...

I finally got around to putting together one of the cushions to match Essie's baby quilt. Put together by A Crafty Natter back in October for the Derby meetup. All that is left is to slip stitch the bottom opening and it's finished.

There will be a second cushion to follow but my sewing machine has decided that it wants to snap my thread every four stitches at the moment so I am letting it have a breather.

Anyway here it is, the square was stitched by Michelle from A Crafty Natter:

I have also written up a how to if anyone is interested in making on the same way, the same process and be used for quilts also or any other type of craft.

Thanks for looking.

A Crafty Natter - meet-up

This weekend was the A Crafty Natter meet-up in Derby, Mickleover. I arrived at Derby train station and was met by a couple of the ladies who had kindly offered to pick me up. Rachael (Raleau) and Helen (stitchingranny).

I had a lovely time at the meet-up and surprisingly managed to get quite a bit of stitching done on my teddy wizard.

Even my mum managed to get some stitching done today. She finished the outline of a Chinese urn and a Russian doll too. They seemed to catch the eye of Colly within a few minutes lol. So will send her copies once I am able to get them from my mum.

Nikki was very fond of my jewellery and ended up buying the purple heart necklace, a set of butterfly earrings and a red and green oriental bracelet and earrings set.

I exchanged all of my fat quarters for the quilt exchange and they all seem to work well together. I chose a butterfly printed piece of fabric, which is the same one used for Essie’s quilt. The others I received were mainly flowers so they compliment well.

Essie’s quilt came out lovely! My first quilted quilt and everyone thought it was fantastic. I may have finished it at 2.30am Saturday morning but a deadline is a deadline and I wasn’t going to let it pass!

Here is the quilt:

And here are Essie, Frido and I with it:

There were competition winners announced and another quilt on show this time for the Rainbow Hospice, which is a children’s charity.

We even had a picture taken of everyone in the group that attended.

It was then time for the goody bags draw lol. All those who made up goody bags were able to pick a number out of a tub to get one in return. Coincidently I received the goody bag that Essie had made up and it was filled with traditional Dutch sweeties which I cannot wait to try! The toast toppings look rather yummy! There were also some candles and some rayon threads included too.

After the excitement of the meet-up we all went down the road to the Nag’s Head for dinner, which was soooooo yummy. I had a simple burger but it was the best burger ever! (And I’m a fussy eater!) For dessert I had the New York cheesecake and it was just divine! Unfortunately I have no picture as I scoffed it immediately after it was put in front of me lol.

Anyway thankyou to those who arranged it, Colly and Sarah! I can’t wait for another! I had a great time and it seems everyone else did too.

Busy Monday...

Morning everyone,

Well I have been working on my Teddy Wizard again and managed to get his foot and a little more colour on his robe on Sunday.

Today I went to Romford for some missing threads and some fabric. Found some great halloween fabrics in Lili's but didn't get any as I didn't know what to do with it lol.

Anyway I managed to get a nice piece of butterfly printed fabric which I am going to use for the Quilt Exchange on A Crafty Natter.

Here are the fabrics that I picked up:

I had to pick up a parcel from the Post Depo too and also went to the gym so in all a very busy day.

I even made some more progress on my Teddy Wizard too. I got plenty of colour on his robe done.

Here is my progress:
